OUR INSTRUCTORS

Joseph D. Craig

Sifu Joseph D. Craig is the head Instructor for Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do (the art and philosophy of the late Bruce Lee) and Filipino Martial Arts. He was certified in Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts under Sigung Dan Inosanto in 1995. Sifu Craig began apprentice teaching in 1993 under Sifu Jim Smothers, Sr. and Sifu Dwight Trower, and has been actively training in JKD since 1989.

Erol Weber

Guro Erol Weber holds an intermediate instructor rank in Cabales Serrada Eskrima under Pangulo ng Guro Chuck Cadell. He earned a 1st Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do through the Kukkiwon, Seoul, South Korea, in 1988 under Master Moon Sung Song. Under Guro Joe Craig, Erol is a Full Instructor in the Apex Integrated Method, Associate Instructor in Filipino Martial Arts, and Associate Instructor in Maphilindo Silat. Erol is also a Full Qualified Instructor in Wotbag Balintawak, under Chief Instructor Ritche Gumahin.

Allan Wiggins

Guro Allan Wiggins began his martial arts journey in 1970. He obtained a Blue Belt in Okinawan Karate after 2 years. He trained in Combat Judo/Jiu-Jitstu in the Marine Corps and obtained his 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do after 5 years. He also studied Tai Chi for 6 months, American Kick-Boxing for 1 year, and Wing Chun Kung Fu for 1-u00bd years under 2 different instructors. He has studied Japanese Kempo and Chinese Kempo for 2 years, as well as Aikido for 2 years where he obtained pre-brown level ranking.

Tim Williams

Guro Tim Williams-Holds an Apprentice Instructorship in Jun Fan Gung Fu/JKD, Apprentice Instructorship in Maphilindo Silat, Associate Instructor in Apex Integrated Method under Guro Joe Craig. He also holds a Full Qualified Instructorship in Balintawak and is a Wing Chun Coach. Has been involved in martial arts for 20 years-ranging from FMA, Silat and Tae Kwon Do.

Lynn Varghese

Guro Lynn Varghese-Started her martial arts training in 2012. She holds an Associate Instructorship in Filipino Martial Arts, an Instructorship in the Apex Integrated Method and an Apprentice Instructorship in Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do under Guro Joe Craig.

Roy Hagan

Guro Roy Hagan leads the Silat program at Apex. Guro Hagan holds instructor credentials in Pencak Silat Mande Muda under the late Guro Besar Herman Suwanda. Guro Hagan also holds a Maphilindo Silat ranking under Magalong Na Guro Dan Inosanto.

A great deal of time and effort has been spent creating a serious yet fun and open minded training environment. Our facility was founded more than 25 years ago with one goal in mind: to provide the St. Louis metropolitan area with the opportunity to be exposed to and train in a variety of martial arts styles. This process has been laid out so that you the individual determine the best training methodology to suit your needs.

Apex Martial Arts Academy offers authentic instruction in a full range of indigenous martial arts of the Philippines, Korea, Indonesia, China, Japan, Brazil, and Thailand. Apex Martial Arts Academy is proudly affiliated with a stellar group of renowned instructors and lineages, including the World Famous Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts in Los Angeles California.
